Louisville Firm Wins 2013 Institute Honor Award

Congratulations to De Leon & Primmer Architecture Workshop of Louisville, whose Mason Lane Farm Operations Facility was one of 11 projects recognized in the 2013 AIA Institute Honor Awards for Architecture program. The award will be presented during the AIA's annual convention in Denver in June.

AIA Scholarships Awarded

The 2012 AIA Kentucky Scholarship and AIA East Kentucky Chapter Scholarship (both supported by matching grant funds from AIA National) were presented to Anne Schwab of Edgewood. Anne was recognized during the UK College of Design Scholarship Dinner on October 18, 2012. 

New Location for Ky Board of Architects

The Kentucky Board of Architects has relocated to 155 East Main Street, Suite 300 in downtown Lexington.  Phone, fax, web and email addresses remain the same. www.boa.ky.gov

 

AIA Kentucky Members Appointed to State Boards/Committees

Jack Ballard, AIA has been reappointed by the Governor to another 4-year term on the Kentucky Board of Architects.

Thomas Lett, III, AIA of Lexington has been reappointed by Governor Steve Beshear to another 3-year term as AIA Kentucky’s representative on the State Plumbing Code Committee.

The Governor has appointed the following AIA members to the Kentucky Finance Cabinet’s High Performance Buildings Advisory Committee: Cheryl Creech Kersey, AIA of Kersey and Kersey Architects in Louisville, representing AIA Kentucky; Michael Jacobs, AIA of Omni Architects in Lexington, representing the design and construction industry; and Jeff Moneypenny, AIA of Luckett & Farley in Louisville, representing USGBC.

Elizabeth Atinay, AIA, Hugh Bennett, AIA and Byron Romanowitz, FAIA have been appointed by Governor Steve Beshear to serve as AIA Kentucky's representatives on the Finance & Administration Cabinet's Architectural Selection Committees.
